BRATISLAVA, June 23
(Reuters) – Greece’s prime minister has expressed serious doubts over whether his parliament will pass an austerity package demanded by Athens’ international lenders, Slovak Prime Minister Iveta Radicova said on Thursday.
Radicova said Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou had expressed the doubts in a phone conversation on Wednesday.
“Prime Minister Papandreou has serious doubts about whether the necessary steps will pass in parliament,” Radicova told the Slovak parliament’s committee for European affairs.
“The prime minister himself cannot guarantee the proposals he will submit will find support in parliament.”
